The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA) is a national alliance of 300,000 business owners and their employees who offer all types of insurance and financial services products.

The Independent Insurance Agents' Association of Western New York, Inc. (IIAAWNY) is considered to be the second oldest organization of insurance agents in the United States, second only to its counterpart in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1841, a group of local agents in Buffalo began meeting for discussion of their common problems in dealing with their companies and with the public.

NeXt Generation of Insurance Professionals (NeXt Gen) is a professional skills development and networking group open to individuals under 40, or those who are new to the independent insurance industry. Membership is not limited to agents only; it is open to anyone involved in or supporting the insurance industry, including all agency and company personnel.

NeXt Gen sponsors trainings, seminars and conferences across the state. Our members also have the opportunity to participate in national Big “I” Young Agents events.

The Insurance Department is responsible for supervising and regulating all insurance business in New York State.

Our club was formed in 1953 to promote education and fellowship among its members in the Western New York insurance community.  Over the years, the primary function of the club has remained unchanged, which is to host events to encourage education, create new business contacts and maintain friendships.

Our goal is to provide educational resources to insurance professionals to keep them informed of the constant changes taking place in our industry.  The Buffalo Claims Association addresses these ongoing technical and regulatory issues enhancing the overall career development of our meetings and social events to provide awareness of our changing environment.  Community service is also a critical part of our existence as we offer scholarships, retirement awards and contribute to several charitable organizations.
